Job Description


Toast is recruiting on behalf of this company, a forward-thinking digital media organization seeking a strategic and proactive Business Development Manager. In this role, you will drive new business acquisition, lead outbound sales initiatives, and support the company’s growth by engaging new client segments. Working cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Legal, and Finance, you will be integral to building and optimizing outbound sales strategies that align with the company's cooperative values and revenue goals.

As the Business Development Manager, you’ll focus on acquiring new business, generating leads, and fostering strategic relationships with clients. This role requires strong communication, adaptability, and leadership skills, as well as expertise in digital sales environments. You will report to the Sales Director and collaborate closely with stakeholders to execute a data-driven approach to new business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Outbound Strategy Development: Implement, optimize, and evaluate outbound sales strategies to drive new client acquisition and revenue growth.
  • Market Research & Competitive Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities within new customer segments and markets.
  • KPI & Analytics Management: Define, assess, and report on key performance indicators, making strategic recommendations based on quantitative insights.
  • Sales Trend Monitoring: Stay up-to-date on sales trends to ensure the company remains competitive, adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate outbound sales efforts with Finance, Legal, and Marketing, and provide insights on pricing, messaging, and promotion.
  • Event Participation: Support sales initiatives through event planning, participation in industry events, and client meetings to expand the company’s reach.
  • Technology Optimization: Evaluate new technologies and CRM tools to enhance outbound sales performance.
  • Contract Negotiation: Work with the Sales Director and Legal team to negotiate master agreements and contracts, ensuring terms align with company standards.
 

Requirements

 
  • Experience: 6+ years in sales within a digital environment, preferably in stock media or agency settings.
  • Strategic Business Development: Proven expertise in developing, implementing, and assessing business development strategies, ideally within e-commerce or similar settings.
  • Analytical Mindset: Experience establishing KPIs and delivering insights based on data analytics.
  • Sales Track Record: Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets consistently.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Trello, Asana) and CRM systems, particularly HubSpot.
  • Communication & Relationship Building: Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative, client-focused approach and the ability to build strong business relationships.
  • Adaptability: Flexible and agile, able to respond to rapidly changing business conditions and priorities.
