This company is seeking a skilled Intermediate Ruby on Rails Developer to contribute to their customer-facing and admin products, third-party integrations, and system architecture. You will play a crucial role in solving complex engineering challenges while maintaining a strong focus on scalability, security, and performance. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate across teams and drive meaningful innovation in financial technology.
 

Key Responsibilities

 

• Develop, maintain, and optimize core web and mobile applications.
• Architect flexible and scalable solutions for increased reliability and performance.
• Integrate and manage third-party tools and services.
• Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, story grooming, and daily standups.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Customer Care, and Finance teams to refine and implement new features.
• Follow secure coding practices and adhere to SDLC guidelines.
• Engage in peer reviews, mentorship, and knowledge-sharing within the development team.
• Champion the mission to provide responsible financial products to underserved employees.

 

Requirements

 

• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails in production environments.
• Strong understanding of scalability, concurrency, background processing, and third-party data ingestion.
• Solid grasp of software engineering principles (SOLID, domain-driven design, efficient queries, testing).
• Ability to balance quick experimentation with clean, scalable code for long-term solutions.
• Strong SQL and data analysis skills with an analytical approach to problem-solving.
• Full-stack development mindset, taking ownership from backend to frontend, testing, and delivery.
• Experience working in an agile development environment with sprints and scrum.
• Familiarity with Git, GitHub, Jira, and other development tools.

Bonus Points For

• Experience with BI tools like Metabase or Looker.
• Competence in React or React Native.
• Interest or experience in DevOps, AWS, and cloud services.
• Background in financial technology, accounting systems, or banking.
