Toast is recruiting on behalf of this company to find a highly skilled Lead Database Administrator (DBA) who thrives in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment. Key Responsibilities
 
  • Lead and mentor a small team of Database Administrators, fostering skill development and collaboration.
  • Oversee SQL Server database installation, configuration, and maintenance to ensure security, integrity, and high performance.
  • Assess the current database environment, recommend improvements, and implement best practices.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance while reducing reactive support tickets.
  • Design and enforce robust backup and recovery protocols to maintain data availability and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet database needs and provide data-driven solutions.
  • Utilize SSIS for data integration workflows, SSRS for reporting, and SSAS for analytics.
  • Manage database-related projects, including migrations, upgrades, and system integrations.
  • Explore and contribute to future cloud-based database practices, with a focus on AWS and Snowflake.
  • Maintain documentation of database processes, configurations, and best practices.
 

Requirements

 
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator, including 2+ years in a leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of SQL Server management, including replication, SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.
  • Familiarity with MySQL, Oracle, and Snowflake is an advantage.
  • Proven ability to assess and improve database environments, focusing on proactive management.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex database issues and optimizing storage solutions.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to guide team members and liaise with stakeholders.
  • Exposure to cloud-based database technologies (e.g., AWS) is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, are desirable.

Schedule

 
  • 40-hour workweek, Monday to Friday, with a hybrid work arrangement (3 days in-office, 2 remote).
  • On-call responsibilities with compensatory time off for after-hours work.
