Senior Software Engineer
Toast is recruiting on behalf of this company for a Senior Software Engineer to join a team dedicated to redefining meeting experiences through innovative technology. In this role, you will be instrumental in the development of the AI Meeting Assistant, taking ownership of new features, experimenting with cutting-edge AI technologies, and shaping the future of team collaboration. This remote-first opportunity allows you to work from anywhere, with optional access to offices in Ottawa (HQ), Montreal, and Toronto.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-Stack Development: Contribute to the entire application stack using React, TypeScript, Django, Python, Relay, GraphQL, and other modern technologies.
- Innovation: Experiment with and integrate AI technologies, including large language models (LLMs), to improve meeting productivity and user experiences.
- Collaboration: Partner with designers, product leads, and QA analysts to deliver intuitive interfaces and seamless functionality.
- Ownership: Lead the development of features from technical specs to monitoring post-release performance metrics.
- Best Practices: Promote and adopt best practices in engineering methodologies, tools, and workflows.
- Documentation: Write and maintain technical specifications, ensuring clarity and alignment across teams.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experience: 5+ years of programming experience, with a proven track record of building web applications across the stack.
- Technical Expertise: Strong focus in at least one of Django or React. Familiarity with modern frameworks and technologies is highly valued.
- Ownership: Thrives on taking full ownership of features, writing clean and extensible code, and analyzing performance post-launch.
- Collaboration: Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
- Curiosity: Excited about bringing innovative ideas to the table and continuously learning.
